Stray dog rescues and attempts to raise baby

NAIROBI, KENYA - A newborn baby abandoned in a Kenyan forest was found nestled with a litter of puppies after being rescued by a stray dog, witnesses say.

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation online story, “The dog carried the baby, clad in a tattered shirt and wrapped in a plastic bag, across a busy road and through a barbed-wire fence to the shed housing her brood.” Local residents found “the tan mixed-breed dog lying protectively with a puppy beside the baby wrapped in a torn black shirt.” The baby is now said to be recovering in hospital, and has been named “Angel” by staff.

Note: There are not many clearly genuine stories of children being rescued/raised by animals, but this seems to be one.
